Short and Simple

Hey Relentless Students! I hope you have been enjoying the beautiful weather this fine Sunday. We are on day 28 of our 30-day Devo, coming close to the end! We are still going strong in our practice, examen prayer. The guide for today's prayer can be found under the "30-day Devo" tab above.

Our verse today is Isaiah 30:19 which says,

"For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you."

Look at the surrounding passage of this verse. It's all about having patience. Both God with us and us with God. He may not act when we find it convenient, but He will be there for us when we need it. Even though we fail Him, He loves us. Even though we seek out other things to make us happy, He still waits and has a plan to restore us. When reading it the whole chapter you get the picture of God's plan with Israelites and how he intended to restore them after the exile, even though the exile was due to their failures

I'm gonna level with you. Today is a beautiful day and for a lot of us, the sun brought back some hope. So, enjoy this weather. Get outside, spend time with family, and just relax for a moment. Why doesn't this feel like a typical Devo? I'm trying to keep it short so you can spend more time outside, enjoying nature, and praising God for the beauty out there.

My challenge for you is simple. Go outside! Get fresh air and just breathe it all in. Take 10 minutes, read the guided prayer like mentioned above.

Our prayer for today,

God, thank you for the sunshine. Thank you for a crisp breeze on a sunny day. Thank you for family, even though being locked in with them may be getting old. May we have patience in this trying time and remember in the end, we win. We have victory in you over death! Thank you for loving us and may we return that love each and every day. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

P.S. Our website has a new section "For Fun" currently it has a few printable board games and over time the library will build. There will also be funny videos added each week of different days to keep you on your toes! Check back to see what all gets added over the coming weeks!
